Circulation Heaters

Circulation heaters (inline heaters) are the most versatile and efficient heaters for heating large volumes of liquids such as water heating, lube oil heating, glycol heating. Inline gas heaters heat up gases or liquids, in a closed loop circuit using a pump or a motor. The medium is constantly reheated so that there is a minimal amount of energy requirement to reach your target temperature. Additional inline gas heating components that help reduce energy costs are insulation, great control systems using thermocouples and high limit switches and, an area that is insulated from the cold outdoors. The inline gas heating circulation heaters come in flange sizes from 2 inch ANSI up to 40 inch ansi and can be ASME or CRN approved if your application requires it. Temperature regulators are used for precise measurement.

Digital controllers using relays, contactors, solid state relays and disconnect switches can be placed in NEMA 1 standard terminal boxes, water proof boxes (NEMA 4) or explosion proof boxes. Many inline heaters use various types of inlets and outlets depending on the flow rate they wish to achieve. Common inlets are NPT fittings or couplings however flange mounted are also popular as they allow rigid and secure fixation onto the outlets. Circulation heaters are commonly horizontally mounted however vertical installations are used for easy access drainage for maintenance purposes. Circulation heaters can come with pressure valve fittings to monitor unusual spikes in flows and also come with thermocouples installed in the outlets that can help monitor temperatures for your liquids after they are heated. The inline heater you see below is skid mounted. this allows for securely placed vessels in any area requiring stable installations. Protective clamps and keepers and used to allow for easy flowing air or liquids in and around the heating elements to allow even heat distribution and, efficient thermal control.
