Over-the-side heaters don’t really have a set design pattern, which means they can be custom designed to suit the specifications and modification that the customer or industry requires. It is made up using a thermowell and a host of tubular elements which are used in coordination to keep the temperature lobe in place.

Structure

These heaters are designed keeping in mind that they are attached to the upper portion of the tank, either above the substance that is to be heated or in one side (which is where it gets its name from). The structure of the heater leaves ample space in the container. This allows for a variety of operations to run that have no link to heating.

In an over-the-side heater, the most important part is its heating element. Elements are made using titanium, cast alloy, steel, and copper. In some cases, the heating element is coated with quartz or other such materials to protect it at all times.
